Attack, Defense, Stamina and Balance are useful ways to describe intended behavior. They are not a rigid rock-paper-scissors guarantee: mass, shape, height, Bit, launch and stadium movement can overturn a simple type expectation.
Attack
Attack builds try to create decisive contact. Aggressive Blade shapes, lower Ratchets and mobile Flat- or Rush-family Bits can increase movement and knockout opportunities. The tradeoff is energy: wide movement, rail engagement and heavy recoil can shorten spin time.
A strong Attack launch is controlled rather than merely maximal. The goal is to cross the opponent’s path, not spend the whole battle circling without contact.
Defense
Defense builds aim to survive impact, resist displacement and remain inside the stadium. Rounder contact shapes, stable Bits and useful mass can reduce the effect of a hit. Excessively passive movement can still lose by Spin Finish, so Defense needs enough endurance to convert survival into a win.

Stamina
Stamina builds preserve rotation and minimize wasted movement. Smooth Blades, taller or stable setups and Ball-, Orb- or Needle-family Bits often support that objective. They prefer clean launches and central paths, but can be vulnerable to a well-timed knockout hit.
Balance
Balance builds combine traits rather than maximizing one. A Point- or Taper-family Bit may offer a calmer center phase and a more mobile phase depending on tilt and contact. Balance is flexible, but flexibility rewards launch practice; a vague setup without a clear win condition can become average at everything.
Build around a win condition
- For knockouts, prioritize reliable contact paths and enough control to reach the opponent.
- For survival, combine impact resistance with a Bit that recovers after destabilization.
- For Spin Finishes, reduce unnecessary travel and protect rotational energy.
- For adaptation, practice more than one launch with the same Balance combo.
